There are some things I can put together without instructions. Take a bookshelf. Pretty simple, right? A top, bottom, some shelves and a back. Got it. No need to bring out the multi-lingual booklet that walks we through 48 steps. There are other things that make me a bit more nervous: Changing the hard-drive in my iMac or replacing the ignition tumbler in my van.
When I come across one of these bigger projects I need a how-to or user’s guide. Often I will jump on YouTube or Google what I am hoping to do. I then follow someone else’s experience (and hope they know what they are doing). It seems that the more complicated or big something is, the more I need help, or a User’s Guide.
Our church is fairly simple. We have a clear mission: Inviting you to become who God created you to be. We value: Worship, Action and Community (Groups). However, if you look around there is a lot going on. There is a lot to these different aspects of who we are.
So we have developed a User’s Guide. A straightforward, practical way to answer some of the questions we have about church in general and gathering specifically.
Below you find audio of the teaching on each topic and links to the blog conversations.
How do I choose a church?
How do I worship in community?
How do I give? (Should I give?)
How do I invite someone to follow Jesus?
